About TICA

Blue Globe Name Cat No Website

The International Cat Association (TICA) is the world’s largest genetic registry of pedigreed and non-pedigreed cats and one of the leading international sanctioning bodies for cat shows worldwide.  We’re committed to the promotion, protection, and appreciation of both pedigree and non-pedigree household pet cats. We strive for inclusion and respect for all breeds, which is why we recognize more breeds than any other cat fancy organization.

TICA has a place for you, whether you’re a die-hard member of the cat fancy community or a cat owner who is interested in learning more about your feline companion. Cats are the top-owned companion animals in the world and we know that cat owners take a special interest in animal psychology, welfare, and behavior. We advance the admiration and protection of household pet cats and pedigreed cats alike, while advocating for animal welfare and building community through our cat shows, educational events, support of shelters and rescues, as well as working with all veterinarian associations, teaching colleges, and all levels of educational opportunities.

About Our Shows

TICA hosts internationally-respected cat shows across the world for enthusiasts, amateurs, and observers to enjoy. Our cat shows are open to both pedigreed cats and household cats, and our standards are approved by our Committees before they’re used to judge cats. We make sure that we form criteria that respects the objective competitive nature of shows while also respecting the uniqueness of each and every cat we come across. Learn more about our cat shows
